I began studying history in college. I became interested in history because I learned that there is no one correct history or fact. History is also used by many governments and leaders as political tool. I chose to study East Asia because I wanted to combine my heritage and academic interest. The Center for the Study of Asia at Brown University thinks we should study Asia because more than half of the world population lives in Asia, and it was the birthplace of major religions.[1]

We should begin the study of a place by asking where it is. How do we begin studying history if the border of each country changes overtime? The border line of China from 960 C.E. to 1100 C.E. is different from the China we know today.
