    Adoption request

    edit

Hello there, Deannarcundiff! I'm Netalarm and I've been around on Wikipedia for quite some time now. It appears that you've indicated that you want to be adopted on your user page. While you can wait for an adopter to come forward and offer to adopt you, I would highly recommend that you also actively seek an adopter. From the cases I've seen, I've noticed that it is often much faster if the adoptee also actively participates in the matching process.

When choosing an adopter (click here for a list), there are a few things you'll want to check. First of all, you'll want to check if they are available. The column with the label "Adoption status" will tell you if they are able to accept more adoptees. You may also want to choose an adopter that has similar interests, which are indicated in the "Interests" column, though it is not required you do so. Once you have found an adopter you want, you may message them on their talk page and ask to be adopted. If you have any questions about this process (or about Wikipedia in general), feel free to message me on my talk page.

Once again, welcome to Wikipedia! Netalarmtalk 04:41, 5 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

    Hello Deannarcundiff,

You previously expressed interest in being adopted; however, you have not provided correspondence to messages sent by the adoption program's members or have not indicated that you wish to stay on Wikipdia well after the adoption period is over. The Adoption program's adopters cater to the needs of adoptees, but cannot chase after potential adoptee's whose activity may be limited, due to the limited amount of adopters we have. Adoption is for those that want to stay, it is unfair for the adopters to have to teach to a user who will pack up their bags and leave after adoption or doing whatever it is they wanted to do.

Please understand our concern, but remember that if you do want to stay, you're more than welcome to join in the adoption program! Simply respond to this message indicating that you are active and I or another Adopter will get back to you shortly.

Hmm... mistaken tag on his part I believe. We were sending those message out to people that requested adoption back in September, October that had received messages, but didn't respond to them. Regarding your adoption request, I think there are some specifics that need to be worked out, as we don't really have that many resources, so it will take a long time before someone offers adoption. I'll be discussing them with HstryQT and others. Netalarmtalk 20:59, 6 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

    IMCPL resources

I was at the main library downtown today going through the vertical files and I ran across two clippings of stories on the Young Abe. If you happen to go down there, they might be worth a look. They are in the "Indy-State Capitol (Statehouse)" folder, but I am not sure which drawer because one of the reference desk people pulled it out for me. And, don't let them tell you to look for it on the 3rd floor which is where other files of buildings are found. This one was definitely on the 4th floor. IMA

Not telling you what to do but there are a TON of articles earmarked with your name on them (literally) at the IMA. Someone gave you a lot of love! They are in the Monuments-Indiana folder held by the librarian for our class. Emtrix (talk) 04:06, 4 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Young Abe Lincoln.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 06:06, 10 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
