WikiProject Notre Dame Invite

edit

Hey! I noticed you are a Notre Dame alumnus, hence I wanted to invite you to join our project. Also, I know you're already an active member of the project, but I just wanted to tell you that I'm currently in the effort to re-boot the project and make it more productive than ever.

Just out of curiosity, I know you're an alumnus, were you an undergrad? What dorm? Eccekevin (talk) 19:57, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I graduated in 1980 (B.A., Economics). I lived in Lewis Hall. My M.B.A. is from Loyola Chicago in 1982. It was before ND had a MBA program in downtown Chicago, otherwise I would have gone to ND for that also. At the time, they only had a full-time program in Indiana, and although I was accepted, I turned it down so I could move back to my hometown in the W. Suburbs and commute downtown to Loyola's Graduate School of Business. Cheers! Funandtrvl (talk) 20:54, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
That's great! I hope you get to visit often. Also, if you're interested, the current Lewis Hall section Hall is severly lacking. I found good sources , but I don't have time to work on it. If you want, that's definitely something that has to be done Archives[1]. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eccekevin (talkcontribs) 05:39, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Notre Dame

edit

HiFunandtrvl!

I know that in the past you've been an active Wikiproject Notre Dame. I am currently revamping the project and I'm looking for other people interested in contributing. We are in dire need, since Notre Dame has so much to be covered, but very few editors on it. There is so much to do, either adding content, or editing, or assessing. If you wanted to collaborate, there is the updated to do list (you can find it in the invite box). Are you an alumnus/a of the University? Please feel free to ask me for anything!

Best,

Eccekevin (talk) 00:35, 16 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Notre Dame

edit

Hello Funandtrvl, I just wanted to thank you for your work for the WikiProject Notre Dame. I am currently making an effort to revamp it and improve all articles. I was wondering if you could help out, since any and all help is needed. If you want, you can check out the To Do list for the top priority, or take your own initiative and work on what's needed the most. The top priority articles in bad condition, like the colleges or the grotto, need a lot of help too. Additionally, photos or translation in other languages are also great.

Best and thank once more for your work on Wikipedia, Eccekevin (talk) 02:35, 16 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

thanks- I will take a look at it! Funandtrvl (talk) 17:50, 17 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I don't have an appropriately shaped barnstar but just wanted to say thanks for all your good work in the portal namespace. I watch quite a few of its pages, mainly to counter vandalism, and most of the good edits that I skip over are yours. Certes (talk) 22:47, 23 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

    Sourcing

Since you are part of the WikiProject:Notre Dame, would you help me source some pages that risk being deleted/redirected, like Alumni Hall, Badin Hall, Carroll Hall, and Keenan Hall. Hello. I saw you’re a member of WikiProject Travel and Tourism, and was hoping you could assist on The Points Guy. I posted a few suggested updates to the Talk page Talk:The_Points_Guy#Proposed_Updates_to_Article to improve the article - if possible, can you review the proposed changes? I have a COI, and didn’t want to update the article directly. Thank you for your help! Cheergirl325 (talk) 15:37, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

    Senior Wikipedians

    edit

WikiProject Wikipedians aged 70 and older has been inactive for some time. The following three proposals may help invigorate this project.

    1. Change the name of this project to WikiProject Senior Wikipedians.[a]
    2. Open membership in this project to users who are at least 60 years of age and have made at least 50 edits in the past year.[b]
    3. Open supporting membership in this project to users who are less than 60 years old but have made at least 50 edits in the past year and support the goals of this project.[c]

    Suggested goals for this project:

    1. To support collaboration and communication among members for the advancement and improvement of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia movement.
    2. To encourage older people, retired people, and soon-to-be-retired people to participate in Wikipedia both for the advancement of the encyclopedia and for their own personal enjoyment.
    3. To encourage older people to share their experience and expertise for the improvement of Wikipedia.
    4. To encourage older users to use their experience and expertise to help younger and less experienced users.
    5. To encourage participation in local and regional Wikimedia events.
    6. To sponsor Wikipedia meetings and classes at places where older people gather.
    7. To advocate for the elimination of ageism and sexism in Wikipedia and the Wikimedia movement.

    Notes

    1. ^ The current name of this project, WikiProject Wikipedians aged 70 and older, is somewhat cumbersome and excludes participation by any users under the age of 70 years.
  • ^ This current minimum age limit of this project is 70 years. A minimum age limit of 60 years should permit the participation of most retired users. The minimum activity level of 50 edits per year is arbitrary. A minimum activity level indicates continued interest. Members who do not meet the minimum activity level shall be moved to inactive status. Members who have died shall be moved to memorial status.
  • ^ A new class of Supporting Members allows those users under 60 years to support the goals of the project. Users approaching the age of 60 years may wish to become supporting members in anticipation of reaching the minimum age limit for members.
  • Please add your suggestions for this project at Senior Wikipedians. Thank you,  Buaidh  talk e-mail 01:15, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you don't wish to receive any further information about Senior Wikipedians, please remove your username from our notice list. Thanks.
