Welcome! The purpose of this page is to track articles on women and women's works being nominated for Good Article (GA) and Featured Article (FA) status in 2020 and to encourage editors to work towards nominating more articles. Participation is completely optional. Please keep the following guidelines in mind:
When listing article nominations as part of our goals, please only list articles on this page with the consent of the article nominator. If someone declines participation, kindly respect that choice. Article nominators should be major contributors to the article or should have placed a notice on the article talk page prior to nomination. Good Article nominations which are quick failed should be removed from the nominations list, however articles which are fully reviewed and failed may stay. A failure at Good Article nominations can still be an important step forward for an article, allowing editors to identify problems and continue to make improvements.
When listing article reviews (as per Goal #3), please only list articles with the consent of the article reviewer. If someone declines participation, kindly respect that choice. All fully completed GAN reviews are eligible to be listed, regardless of the review's ultimate outcome (pass or fail).
In 2020, our first goal is to have Women in Green participants nominate 20 articles for Good Article (GA) status on the theme of women and/or women's works related to sports, athletics and physical feats. We aim to cover women from every continent in the world.
Separate from the theme of women in sports, Women in Green participants are also encouraged to nominate articles about other women and/or women's works for Good Article (GA) status. Our second goal for 2020 is to nominate 25 articles about any women or women's works for GA Status. Working on articles about artists, scientists, suffragettes, business leaders, politicians, inventors, warriors, or other women? You can choose to add your nominations here instead. We aim to cover women from every continent in the world.
As a new initiative this year, Women in Green participants have a goal of completing at least 10 Good Article (GA) nomination reviews, focusing on articles about women and women's works. Interested participants should note the following: (1) editors should have already gone through the GA process as a nominator at least once before taking on a review, (2) first-time reviewers should consider finding a mentor, (3) editors are encouraged to review articles on topics they are familiar with, and (4) editors are NOT expected to pass GA nominations in order to contribute to WiG goals. Once any GA nomination review has been formally completed, both passed and failed articles may be added to the GAN review goal list below.
In 2020, Women in Green participants also have a goal of nominating 5 articles about women or women's works for Featured Article (FA) status. Since FA nominations often take more work and are a lengthier process than GA nominations, editors are encouraged to collaborate with each other on FA nominations. If you're not sure how to get started, ask for help! Useful tips and information can be found at the Featured Article candidates page. Editors can list an FA nomination project below as soon as they decide to begin seriously working towards the nomination, and they can update the status of their project as it progresses through different stages (for example, early preparation, peer review, FA review, pass or fail, etc).
