Colour me shocked

edit

Genuinely shocked to find that Lourdes was a sock of Wifione. Who knew? Guy (help! - typo?) 19:59, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Same. That was not on any of my wikibingo lists Thanks,L3X1 ◊distænt write◊ 00:32, 6 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Most recent newsletter wasn't subst'd?

edit

Hello. I just noticed that there appears to be an issue with the most recent newsletter (January 2024), e.g. Special:Diff/1192979289, where the substitution did not take place. I think this means that it will forever show the current month's newsletter in that section on every user's talk page unless it's corrected. Ping @EN-Jungwon?DanCherek (talk) 00:02, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

@DanCherek yes, I did notice that when I sent out the newsletter. I tried to fix it and realised that the newsletter was sent to over 700 pages. Didn't think it would be a problem until you mentioned forever showing the current newsletter. I'll go ahead and substitute them. Thanks for the heads-up on that. -- EN-Jungwon 01:52, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
@EN-Jungwon: That's a lot of substs, thanks for your work so far - it might be possible to do it (or ask someone to do it) with AWB? DanCherek (talk) 02:43, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
@EN-Jungwon Thank for your work fixing this. I wanted to note that you also missed the step where you fill out Wikipedia:Administrators' newsletter/2024/1/List so that the subscription box is up to date. Wikipedia:Administrators' newsletter/Guide contains the full set of steps which need to be performed to send each issue - I've done this since you're busy fixing substs :) SamWalton (talk) 08:34, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Could someone please add a little blurb to the next newsletter, to ask admins who are willing to take questions about copyvios to please add Category:Wikipedia administrators willing to investigate copyright matters to their user pages? It would be nice to have a double-digit number of names in that cat. Thanks, WhatamIdoing (talk) 04:42, 27 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

"ad" to reach out to potential RfA candidates

edit

Given that this month's admin newsletter talks about the RfA reforms and trials, could we also add a call for people to reach out to good potential RfA candidates? For instance, adding the following bullet point:

—Femke 🐦 (talk) 18:08, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Femke, sure, I will add it before distributing. – DreamRimmer (talk) 19:06, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Newsletter delay?

edit

Today, there hasn't yet been any massmessage yet; the same thing happened last month where the newsletter was massmessaged five days late. Should someone massmessage to the subscribers? ToadetteEdit! 18:30, 5 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

@ToadetteEdit, sorry for the delay. I was busy for a few days. @EN-Jungwon will deliver it as soon as possible. – DreamRimmer (talk) 02:44, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
