Colleen Patrick-Goudreau (born March 8, 1970 in Westfield, New Jersey) is an American author, speaker,[1][2] cultural commentator, and podcaster. Having earned her bachelor's degree from Rutgers University, and her master's degree in English Literature from Seton Hall University, Patrick-Goudreau advocates veganism as a means by which to prevent cruelty to animals.[3]

Work

Patrick-Goudreau has written several books. The Vegan Table: 200 Unforgettable Recipes for Entertaining was called "attractive" by Library Journal who also wrote, "Her sophisticated but mostly uncomplicated recipes will appeal to nonvegans and vegans alike."[4] Her book, Color Me Vegan uses contrasting colors in many of the recipes.[5] Her book, The 30-Day Vegan Challenge includes recipes and a "crash course in veganism," according to Bust.[6] The 30-Day Vegan Challenge helps dispel the myth that veganism is about "deprivation and limitations," according to the Oregonian.[7]

Patrick-Goudreau has a podcast called ANIMALOGY, which examines the relationship between humans and animals, and the value of animal's lives.[8] She is also a contributor to NPR.[9]

A recipe (with commentary) from Patrick-Goudreau's Color Me Vegan was reprinted in the The Christian Science Monitor.[10]

Patrick-Goudreau has appeared on national and regional TV programs, including the Food Network, CBS, PBS, and FOX.[11]

Patrick-Goudreau was one of several people who provided information used in the writing of the book Striking at the Roots: A Practical Guide to Animal Activism (2008) by Mark Hawthorne. She has contributed essays to Running, Eating, Thinking: A Vegan Anthology.[12]

Personal background

Patrick-Goudreau is a supporter of Farm Sanctuary.[13] She is the founder of Compassionate Cooks, which is an organization that educates the public about food choices and veganism.[14]
