John M. Ordway. U.S. State Dep’t photo

John Malcom Ordway (born in California) is a retired foreign service officer who is currently the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Prague, Czech Republic since May 21, 2010.[1]

He previously served as the Chargé d'Affaires at three United States embassies: Kathmandu, Nepal(December 2009 - January 2010), Sofia, Bulgaria(August 2009 - November 2009), and the United States Embassy in Vienna (May 2009 - July 2009).

He served as the United States Ambassador to Kazakhstan from September 2004 - 2008 and as the United States Ambassador to Armenia from November 2001 to August 2004.[2]

Ordway graduated from Stanford University in 1972 and the University of California's Hastings College of Law in 1975. He speaks Russian, French, Italian, Czech and Armenian.[2]
