*'''Support''' if accurate (didn't click on the link, and it's not yet on the Petrone page) but worded so the opening sentence makes it clear it's a new name for such a historic building (and later in the lead a brief descriptor and link to [[Rocco Petrone]]). *'''Oppose''' per Ahecht. A brief survey of recent hits on Google News found 3 of the first 4 sources I checked using "Launch Control Center", which is enough to make me strongly doubt the new official name is the [[WP:COMMONNAME]] at this point. Disapointed

I was very disapointed on discovering this article, it is quite incomplete and isn't well written. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.58.201.12 (talk) 22:13, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Other positions

What about the other callsigns I hear during prelaunch, such as TBC, LPS, STM, SRO and the like? What do they do? -- Denelson83 02:34, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Launch status check" Wikipedia Entry

Someone please help edit Launch status check? I got the ball rolling. Radical Mallard 6:33 PM EST, April 2, 2009

STC – Saturn Test Conductor

Why isn't this term here or anywhere else in Wikipedia? __meco (talk) 10:28, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The current article is very Shuttle-focused, which tends to focus away from the historical. I think it would be a good addition to break out a section on the Apollo-era LCC, of which STC would be one of the prime players, and even stretching back to Mercury, when FLIGHT was based there as well, rather than in Houston. That last part may be more appropriate for the CCAFS article, though, since this one focuses on the KSC LCC. ArakunemTalk 13:04, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

LCC is generic term and used by many launch vehicles. This entry should be changed to LC-39 LCC

Should be moved to "Rocco A. Petrone Launch Control Center"

Requested move 19 March 2022

Launch Control CenterRocco A. Petrone Launch Control Center – Renamed by NASA 115.69.29.10 (talk) 03:36, 19 March 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 21:32, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

On February 22, 2022 the Launch Control Center at the Kennedy Space Center was renamed the Rocco A. Petrone Launch Control Center in honour of an Apollo-era launch director. Although verbose, I think a move is worthwhile because the old name is ambiguous, requiring a note at the top. If no move, the new name needs to be edited in. 115.69.29.10 (talk) 03:34, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
