You're doing a great job; you have corrected other things too, thank you very much! Of course I have no doubts about you, but I would like to know if you have deleted only my additions concerning British English or if you have also changed the consolidated English of some articles; thank you very much for your work. JacktheBrown (talk) 22:22, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There have been a few articles where I've come across an earlier switch that I've reverted (such as this 2014 edit to Ossobuco) and a few where I've changed mixed usage to British English to reflect earlier established usage. --Ahecht (TALK

Hi, on the bruttiboni page, both the "biscuit" and the "cookie" form are used; what should be done in this situation? I don't intervene in such things, so I'm asking you. JacktheBrown (talk) 17:37, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JackkBrown In that case, since the first revision used biscuit, British English would stand. --Ahecht (TALK

thank you! I don't know if you're interested, but I'm working on the tartufo page; in my opinion it's not good at all and should be improved. JacktheBrown (talk) 20:05, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is the template correct on the piada dei morti page? I didn't add it. JacktheBrown (talk) 00:50, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JackkBrown Probably not, as I don't see any spellings in the original version of the article that are indicative of either British or American spellings. --Ahecht (TALK

@Ahecht: what about the ciabatta page? Both "whole-wheat" and "wholemeal" are used. JacktheBrown (talk) 18:18, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like the whole-wheat version was first: Special:Diff/585979668. --Ahecht (TALK

could you correct the error? I promised not to intervene again regarding the change of English. JacktheBrown (talk) 21:46, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Should I leave or remove templates that you haven't removed? Examples: canestrelli; cassata. JacktheBrown (talk) 16:39, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JackkBrown If I left it, it's probably because I thought there was an established use of British English. For example, Canestrelli used "biscuits" from its first revision. I probably didn't remove it from Cassata since it has used "coloured" for a while, but looking at it now it has had "color" and "flavor" for even longer. I'll fix that one. --Ahecht (TALK

So should I restore the template on the canestrelli page? JacktheBrown (talk) 17:57, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JackkBrown Sure, if you want. --Ahecht (TALK

Hi, the pizza article has problems. A long time ago, the "Use British English" template was inserted, and not by me (so it's consolidated), but I noticed that there are non-English terms, such as "flavor"; I don't know all the American variants, could you take care of that? Thanks in advance. Update: I added the template, a month ago (I didn't remember it); here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pizza&diff=prev&oldid=1220888505.
Please also check the pasta article.
    JacktheBrown (talk) 21:45, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the original versionofPizza used "favourite", so BrEng is appropriate. Valereee (talk) 22:30, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Valereee and JackkBrown: WP:STYLEVAR says to use the first post-stub version of the article in which one of the applicable styles appeared, so that single-sentence article doesn't count. The first time a regional variant appeared in a multi-sentence version of the Pizza article that I could find was Special:Permalink/1229788 which uses "flavor". --Ahecht (TALK

No, according to Valereee, "It looks like the original versionofPizza used "favourite", so BrEng is appropriate." (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pizza&oldid=275788; "favourite"). JacktheBrown (talk) 13:40, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JackkBrown Special:PermanentLink/275787 is a one-sentence stub, which WP:STYLEVAR says doesn't count. "Favourite" was removed in the very first edit that expanded the article beyond a single sentence, and "flavor" was introduced a few edits later. You added the "Use British English" template in April 2024. --Ahecht (TALK

"You added the "Use British English" template in April 2024." I specified it. JacktheBrown (talk) 13:48, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think Ahecht has a point; that first version was a sentence. Jack, why are you arguing this so hard? It's simply not that important, and as I've told you many times, this rule was put into place to prevent this kind of disruption. Not because the variant of English is important. Wikipedia literally doesn't care which variant is used; at most we care that it's consistent within an article. Valereee (talk) 19:02, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    @Valereee: all right. JacktheBrown (talk) 22:05, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JackkBrown Looking over the history of Pasta, the first regional variant I could find was the introduction of "color" in Special:Diff/7703437. --Ahecht (TALK

For the Parmesan page, however, "flavour" is used; can I add the template? JacktheBrown (talk) 13:50, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JackkBrown The first regional spelling I can find in Parmesan is "flavor" in Special:Permalink/77735645. --Ahecht (TALK

All the articles in American English? God, this seems excessive... JacktheBrown (talk) 14:17, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Anyway, do what is right (Parmesan), both variants of English are fine for me. JacktheBrown (talk) 15:27, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps we should double-check all the pages more carefully. JacktheBrown (talk) 13:53, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps we should WP:drop the stick. Valereee (talk) 19:03, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    Punchline (fictional character)[edit]

I received your ping, but I only saw it after you had already removed the message with this edit. What was the reason for removing the message? I am fine with withdrawing the request. I should checked more thoroughly first. I was just confused on the back-and-forth with the response being added and then taken down only a few moments later. Aoba47 (talk) 01:33, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Aoba47: I had initially replied that nothing had changed with regards to notability, but then almost immediately noticed that the character had had their own limited series since the last AfD and withdrew my statement. --Ahecht (TALK

    Page move revert help[edit]

Hi @Ahecht, please undo this move. There was an ongoing discussion between me and Amuru before you moved it. Also help me add the move discussion tag back as I have reopened the talk page discussion. I need you to act urgently as it may appear in malformed move and more trouble elucidates.... Thanks. @SafariScribe Looks like Amakuru opposed after I performed the move, but before I could clear the request. I'll go ahead and unwind things. --Ahecht (TALK
