Under the South Korean constitution, the president is restricted to a single five-year term in office, meaning incumbent president Yoon Suk Yeol is ineligible for a second term.[1]

Electoral system

[edit]

The president of South Korea is elected via a single-round plurality voting system, for a term of five years. Incumbent and former presidents are ineligible to seek re-election.[2]
