Abbie Chatfield (born 20 June 1995) is an Australian media personality, television host, radio presenter and podcaster. She is best known for her appearances in reality television as both a contestant and host, she also currently serves as a panellist on The Masked Singer Australia. She is also well known for her political activism in progressive politics, which she speaks about on her podcast, "It's A Lot with Abbie Chatfield".[1]
Chatfield was born on 20 June 1995 and grew up in both Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.[2] She attended St Rita's College Brisbane and later attended Queensland University of Technology, graduating in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in property economics.[3]
Chatfield first gained media attention in 2019 when she was the runner-up on season sevenofNetwork 10's The Bachelor Australia.[4] During her tenure on the show, she received criticism for her outspoken nature and feminist viewpoint.[5] Also in 2019, she launched her podcast It's a Lot, on LISTNR which often appears on top of the Australian iTunes Charts.[6]
Also in 2021, Chatfield hosted Love Island Afterparty Australia,[10] where she spoke about all the latest drama on going down[11]onLove Island Australia. It is unknown whether she will continue this role in 2022 however it is rumoured that she could replace Sophie Monk as the host of Love Island Australia.for the fourth season.[12]
In January 2022, Chatfield made a viral vaccination rant which was morphed into song called "Ketamine", and it became a Hottest 100 contender.[13]
In May 2022, Chatfield launched her own clothing line Verbose the Label.[17] The brand promotes inclusive sizing and diverse representation.
In June 2022, Chatfield revealed that she had landed her own TV show as a part of the pilot showcase with Network 10 called Abbie Chats. The show premiered in July 2022.[18][19] Later that year in November, she launched her own beer line titled "Spill Easy Going Lager".[20][21] In December 2022, Chatfield was announced as the host of a new reality show on Binge called FBoy Island Australia.[22] The show officially aired on 30 May 2023.[23][24]
On 17 August 2023, Chatfield announced that she was stepping back from her national radio show, after hosting the show for a year and a half. She said in a video uploaded to her Instagram, that choice to leave was entirely up to her, saying that she left purely because she didn't want to do it anymore, and her busy schedule made it hard to commit to daily radio.[25][26][27]
Chatfield was in an open relationship with fellow reality television contestant Konrad Bien-Stephens from 2021 after he appeared on the Bachelorette.[30] However, in September 2022, she confirmed that she and Konrad had separated.[31][32][33] She grew up in both the Gold Coast and Brisbane and is currently living in Bondi, where she purchased an apartment in 2022. She also invested in a house in the Byron Bay Hinterland where she resides part-time, when she has a break from work commitments in Sydney. [34]
Chatfield has often spoken about sex positivity after sharing news of her ADHD diagnosis.[35] She actively supports causes she believes in, including body positivity and mental health, and is vocal about social issues.[36]
In June 2024, Chatfield confirmed her relationship with Adam Hyde, a member of EDM duo Peking Duk.
