Ang sa Iyo ay Akin (International title: The Law of Revenge / transl. What's Yours Is Mine) is a Philippine drama television series aired on Kapamilya Channel. Directed by FM Reyes, it starred Jodi Sta. Maria, Iza Calzado and Sam Milby. The series was aired on the network's Primetime Bida evening block and worldwide via The Filipino Channel from August 17, 2020, to March 19, 2021, taking the previous timeslot of Make It with You, which was temporarily occupied by The World of a Married Couple, which replaced the said series after the former was cancelled due to the Enhanced community quarantine in Luzon and ABS-CBN shutdown.
The series was streamed online on Netflix.[3]
Ellice is the beloved daughter of a successful businessman who is blessed to live a luxury life, while Marissa enjoys a simple life with her mother working and living at Villa Ceñidoza. Despite the vast difference in their social statuses, the two women become inseparable best friends. However, one fateful night changes the course of their lives forever, which will ruin their friendship and become sworn rivals.
The project was first unveiled in January 2020 with a working title What Matters Most.[7] The full trailer was released on March 11, 2020, on ABS-CBN, with the final title confirmed as Ang sa Iyo ay Akin.[citation needed]
The series was also filmed on ABS-CBN Soundstage (Horizon IT Park) located at San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
Ang sa Iyo ay Akin was scheduled to premiere on March 23, 2020, as part of ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Gold afternoon block, originally to replace Sandugo.[6] It was postponed due to the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, with its originally planned timeslot taken by a re-run of Got to Believe, as part of ABS-CBN's temporary programming changes due to the said circumstances.[8] However, ABS-CBN went off-the-air on May 5, 2020, due to a cease-and-desist order issued on account of its franchise expiration.[9]
A month after the denial of ABS-CBN's franchise renewal, the series aired on pay cable and satellite via Kapamilya Channel,[10] premiered on August 17, 2020, as part of the network's Primetime Bida evening block, taking the timeslot last occupied by the cancelled drama Make It with You, which was temporarily occupied by The World of a Married Couple.[11] On October 10, 2020, the series began its broadcast on free-to-air television through ZOE Broadcasting Network's A2Z's A2Z Primetime and later on TV5 from March 8 until March 19, 2021, as part of Todo Max Primetime (now Todo Max Primetime Singko).
The series began airing reruns on Kapamilya Channel's Kapamilya Gold afternoon block, Kapamilya Online Live and A2Z's Zuper Hapon from November 28, 2022, to July 7, 2023, replacing the reruns of Bagani and was replaced by Hello, Heart.
During the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon, Iza Calzado was reported to be hospitalized on March 25, 2020, due to pneumonia and tested for COVID-19.[12] Three days later, she was confirmed to have afflicted with the virus disease.[13] After another test, Calzado tested negative for COVID-19 and was discharged from the hospital on March 30, 2020.[14]
As of March 2021, Ang sa Iyo Ay Akin has garnered 253 million total views on YouTube and was the most watched program on iWantTFC throughout its run.[15] It also became the most popular TV show on Netflix Philippines upon its premiere on the streaming platform.[16]
