Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) is a private university located at Namsai.[1] The Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) has been established by Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh through an Act of State Legislature as the State University under the sponsorship and management of World Education Mission (WEM). The university is duly recognized by UGC u/s 2(f) and is empowered to award degrees specified u/s 22 of UGC Act 1956. AUS is the member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

The campus is in Namsai district in Arunachal Pradesh, which is situated at the proximity of 12 Districts Eastern Arunachal Pradesh, 16 Districts of Upper Assam and 4 Districts of Nagaland. The entire region is dominated by tribal population and most of the students of AUS belonged to the minority and tribal groups.

The university has entered into Khadi & Village Industry Commission (KVIC); Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE); National Institute for Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development (NIESBUD); National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC); National Council for Sports & Youth Development (NCSYD); Aalborg University; Mejo University; Chiangmai University; Northumbria University and Coventry University. The university is also undertaking the projects recommended by various Govt. organizations which includes Ministry of Earth Sciences; Rehabilitation Council of India; Department of Science & Technology; Ministry of Rural Development; Ministry of Minority Affairs; Indian Council for Agriculture Research; ISRO, Department of Space, Govt. of India; GSDP, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change; etc.

The AUS is offering Diploma, Graduation, Post-Graduation and Doctoral level Programme in the field of Pharmacy, Nursing, Paramedical, Agricultural Sciences, Science, Engineering & Technology, Library & Information Sciences, Education, Special Education, Physical Education, Arts, Social Sciences, Design, Performing Arts, Commerce, Management and Legal Studies.

History[edit]

The World Education Mission, a charitable NGO established Arunachal University of Studies in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh. The university has been established by Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh vide the Arunachal University of Studies Act 2012 (No. 9 of 2012) and published in extraordinary official gazette of Arunachal Pradesh on dated the May 30th, 2012.
