Aulolepis Greek : ανλος aulos Greek : λεπίς lepis [3] ray-finned fish that lived during the upper Cenomanian and early Turonian . It contains a single species, A. typus Chalk Group of the United Kingdom and the Hesseltal Formation of Germany.[1] [4] [5]
It is generally classified as a member of the Ctenothrissiformes , a group of basal mid-Cretaceous acanthomorphs .[6] [7] aulopiform instead.[8]
