Awki awki (Aymara awki father / gentleman,[1] the reduplication signifies that there is a group of something) is a folk dance performed in the La Paz Department[2]ofBolivia and in the Huancané ProvinceofPeru.[3] The dance satirizes the Spanish conquerors of the colonial period.[4]
