Barbara Martin Coppola, is a business executive of French, Spanish and American nationality. She is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Decathlon Group.

Biography[edit]

Barbara Martin Coppola graduated from Polytechnic University of Madrid and Télécom Paris in 1999.[1] She also holds an MBA from INSEAD.[2][3]

She has worked in more than nine countries. Accordingly, Barbara Martin Coppola now has more than 20 years of international experience.[4]

Career[edit]

Early career[edit]

After her studies, Barbara Martin Coppola started her career at Texas Instruments, where she worked as a business development manager from 1999 to 2004.[1] Later, from 2005 to 2008, she was the Chief Digital Officer at Samsung in Seoul.[1] In 2008, she worked at Google in France.[1][5] She also has previous work experience as a global product marketing manager at YouTube and a Chief Marketing Officer at the Chicago-based meal delivery specialist GrubHub.[6][4]

Ikea[edit]

In April 2018, Barbara Martin Coppola became the Chief Digital Officer of the Group Ikea.[7][8]

Decathlon[edit]

In January 2022, Barbara Martin Coppola became the chief executive officer of the Group Decathlon.[4][6] She is the first woman to run the Group and the first female manager to be recruited from outside the Group Decathlon.[1][7]

Awards[edit]

In September 2023, she won the Women's Excellence Award from the Spanish Women's Leaders Club.[9][10]
