Robert Francis Petrella (born November 7, 1944) is a former American football defensive back in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL) who played for the Miami Dolphins. He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers.[1] He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 12th round of the 1966 NFL Draft.[2] In addition, he was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the eighth round of the 1966 NFL Draft.[3] He was on Miami's roster for their inaugural season in 1966.[4] Petrella played in six seasons for the Dolphins, recording five interceptions.[5]
