The Bornus Consort is a Polish male vocal sextet for early music founded in 1981, and led by musicologist Marcin Bornus-Szczyciński [pl].[1] It was one of the first generation of early music groups in Poland.[2]

  • ^ The history of music in Poland: VII, The contemporary era Jerzy Morawski, Katarzyna Morawska, Barbara Przybyszewska-Jarmińska - 2006 n 1978 the Schola Cantorum Gedanensis was founded in Gdansk; it is currently directed by Jan Lukaszewski. In 1981, Marcin Bornus-Szczycinski created the male vocal sextet Bornus Consort, performing early music. Founded in 1988 was the ensemble Cantus Firmus, led by Wlodzimierz Sohysik, also specialising in early music. In 1990 Anna Szostak set up the Camerata Silesia Vocal Ensemble, performing both music of the Renaissance and the Baroque.
