Novio a la vista, or Boyfriend in Sight, is a 1954 Spanish comedy film directed by Luis García Berlanga. It is based on an idea by Spanish filmmaker Edgar Neville, and produced by Benito Perojo. The film takes place in Spain in 1918.[1]

Plot[edit]

Loli is a young girl who has just crossed the threshold of adolescence and is finally entering the age of being marriageable. In her mother's opinion, she must find a husband as soon as possible. And the best place is the beach, specifically Lindamar (a fictitious town), fashionable among the wealthy people of the time. To that end, both move to the coast. The mother hopes that an engineer they know will notice the girl. But Loli, who she is really in love with, is Enrique, a poor student who also failed his June exams.
