The Cantabrians (Cantabrian and Spanish: cántabros) are an ethnic group who inhabit the autonomous communityofCantabria, in northern Spain.[3] Sometimes they are referred to as "montañeses" (meaning Highlanders). The traditional dialects in this region, known as CantabruorMontañés, are related to the Astur-Leonese languages.
