Euro v.s. euro[edit]

The name of this category has a misspelling. Just like all other currencies, the "euro" is uncapitalized unless it starts a sentence. I think a moderator is needed to correct this. --Teemu Leisti 19:34, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand this page at all. First, it seems to include some names of coins, such as 10 centimes. This does not seem to fall into the category of "currencies replaced by the euro." "Franc" is the name of a currency; "10 centimes" is the name of a coin. The WWII coins are even more unfathomable to me, as the description says "and directly preceding the euro." I would think that any person consulting this page would be looking for the currency names that were actually the official currencies of the countries in question, that were eliminated when the euro was adopted by those countries. If names and denominations of coins belong in this list, isn't the list woefully incomplete? And if the list were complete in that sense (which I can't comprehend), wouldn't it be much harder to find the simple answer people would come to this page for, such as "Italian Lira?"
