Chelodina gunaleni, also known commonlyasGunalen's long-necked turtle and Gunalen's snake-necked turtle, is a speciesofturtle in the family Chelidae. The species is endemic to the lowlands of west-central West Papua, Indonesia, south of the central ranges.[2]

Etymology[edit]

The specific name, gunaleni, is in honor of Indonesian zoologist Danny Gunalen.[3]

Habitat[edit]

The preferred natural habitatsofC. gunaleni are freshwater rivers and freshwater swamps.[4]

Reproduction[edit]

Like all turtles, C. gunaleniisoviparous.[4]
