The Chery Tansuo 06orChery Explore 06 (Chinese: 奇瑞探索06; pinyin: Qíruì Tànsuǒ 06) is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV produced by Chery since 2023 under the Chery and Jaecoo (for oversea market outside China) brands. It is marketed as the Jaecoo J7 in export markets.

    Overview

    [edit]

The Chery Tansuo 06 or Explore 06 was first introduced during the Auto Shanghai 2023 as the Chery TJ-1 C-DM prototype.[3]

The Chery Tansuo 06 is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. A 1.5-litre turbo plug-in hybrid version is available since 2024. All-wheel drive is available.[4][5][6]

The interior is available in black and white with minimum physical buttons, a rectangular instrument panel, a 14.8-inch touchscreen, a head-up display, and a wireless charging pad. The infotainment screen is powered by a Qualcomm 8155 chip and supports FOTA, facial recognition, and a level 2+ driving assistance system.[3]

    Plug-in hybrid

    [edit]

The plug-in hybrid version of the Tansuo 06 went on sale in April 2024 as the Chery Tansuo 06 C-DM. It adopts Chery's latest plug-in hybrid system marketed as the Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM (Chery Dual Mode). It is a combination of the 1.5-litre turbocharged direct injection petrol engine, a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), with a power output of 115 kW (156 PS; 154 hp) and 220 N⋅m (22.4 kg⋅m; 162 lb⋅ft), and a 150 kW (204 PS; 201 hp) electric motor. The electric cruising range is rated at 120 km (75 mi), while overall cruising range is above 1,400 km (870 mi).[7] A version marketed through the Chery Fulwin dealership network will be sold as the Chery Fulwin T6.[8]

    Markets

    [edit]

    Russia

    [edit]

The Jaecoo J7 went on sale in Russia in September 2023 as the first model from Jaecoo. It is available with front and all-wheel drive in four different trim levels: Lifestyle, Ultimate, Active and Supreme. It is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine.[9] It is sold through Omoda-Jaecoo dealerships, although some will be standalone Jaecoo dealers.[10][11]

    South Africa

    [edit]

The Jaecoo J7 was launched in South Africa on 12 April 2024, as part of the Chery's sub-brand Jaecoo introduction in South Africa. At launch, three trims are available: Vortex, Glacier and Inferno; it is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine and AWD comes as standard on the top Inferno trim.[12]

    Malaysia

    [edit]

The Jaecoo J7 was launched in Malaysia on 19 July 2024, in two variants powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine.[13] It is locally assembled at a plant in Shah Alam, Selangor exclusive to vehicles marketed under the Jaecoo brand.[14]
