Christopher Jessup (born September 17, 1998) is an American composer and pianist.[1]
Jessup attended The Juilliard School from 2016 to 2021, studying with composer Melinda Wagner and pianist Jerome Lowenthal. Shortly after graduating from Juilliard in 2021, Jessup was signed to Navona Records.[2]
Jessup's compositions have been performed and recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra, the Brno Contemporary Orchestra, the Juilliard Orchestra, The Crossing, the Kühn Choir of Prague, the National Sawdust Ensemble, Hélène Grimaud, and Brett Deubner.[3][4][5]
As a pianist, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, receiving praise from critics for his "beautiful, sensitive phrasing" (New York Concert Review).[6][7][8][9]
Jessup has received various accolades, including a Global Music Award,[10] a LIT Talent Award,[11] an Akademia Award, a National Sawdust BluePrint Fellowship,[12][13][14] and a nomination for a One World Music Radio Award.[15]
