Danny Msiza is a South African politician and businessman who served as Provincial Treasurer of the African National Congress (ANC) in Limpopo between 2015 and 2022. Msiza, a long-standing ANC member and prominent community leader, is actively campaigning for the party for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
In addition to his role in the ANC, he is a successful entrepreneur with a diverse range of business interests, leading to extensive connections in the corporate world.
Some of his wealth comes from his shares in Nkulunge, a company that holds BEE shares in Cell C, valued at R7.5 million. Additionally, he has a stake in Marula Platinum, a part of the Implats group, worth R12.8 million. The Marula Platinum mine is located in Limpopo.
The ANC's decision to allow Msiza to campaign reflects this principle, highlighting that he has not been formally found guilty. This aligns with the ANC's internal regulations, which disqualify only those members convicted of serious crimes from running for office.
Supporters argue that upholding the principle of presumed innocence is essential and that Msiza, like any other citizen, deserves a fair chance.

Msiza was the inaugural president of the Transvaal's anti-apartheid Motetema Youth Congress in the 1980s.[1] According to the ANC, he was recruited into the underground of Umkhonto we Sizwe in 1984, and he subsequently spent time in exile outside the country. He returned to South Africa in 1992, after the ANC had been unbanned, and subsequently was active in party structures in Sekhukhune in present-day Limpopo.[1] After the end of apartheid, he became a businessman[1] and had financial interests in sectors including mining, telecommunications, and construction.[2]
In September 2015, Msiza was elected as Provincial Treasurer of the ANC's Limpopo branch. He was elected at a special provincial general council held to fill the position after the former incumbent, Thembi Nwedamutswu, died.[1] At the party's next provincial elective conference in June 2018, he was re-elected to a full four-year term in the position, beating Seaparo Sekoati with 848 votes to Sekoati's 688.[3]
The Msiza couple's 'financial statement' was approved by CJ Accountants, also based in Polokwane, with an important disclaimer: "The financial statements were prepared from information and explanations provided by Mr. M. D. Msiza. No audit was done."
Msiza is a notable property mogul, owning various properties in Polokwane valued at over R60 million. Overall, his property portfolio, held through various companies, is nearly R100 million. According to the financial statement, Mojovax owned R34.9 million worth of property in 2016. Since then, a R9.5 million property in central Polokwane was purchased through VBS, increasing Mojovax's asset base to R44 million, assuming no properties have been sold.
His properties include a R13 million home in the upscale Scott Estate in Hout Bay and a portion of Hollandsdrift farm, 25km south of Polokwane, worth R16.5 million. The rest of his properties consist of various homes in Polokwane, including a R9.5 million residence in Cycad Estate. He also owns office buildings in Centurion and Polokwane, as well as a R6.5 million home in Irene, Pretoria. Property records indicate that these purchases were made between 2012 and 2017.
Msiza is married to Mmabogoshi Bellah Msiza.[2]
