The Antoniou Inductor Simulator Circuit, also known as the Antoniou Gyrator Circuit, is a circuit which simulates an inductor using a network of resistors, capacitors, and op-amps. The circuit is used in signal processing filters where using an inductor would be costly or otherwise impracticable.^[1] The purpose of the circut is to emulate the voltage-current characteristic of an inductor:

Where:

• ${\displaystyle v($t)} is the voltage across the inductor
• ${\displaystyle L}$ is the inductance of the inductor
• ${\displaystyle {\frac {di($t)}{dt}}} is the derivative of the current through the inductor with respect to time

The circuit has four resistors and one capacitor. Assuming the op-amps are ideal, the voltages at their input terminals are equal, and no current enters the op-amps.

Insignal processing, the Antoniou Inductor Simulator circuit is used to simulate the voltage-current relationship of an inductor. The circuit is useful in that it simulates the electrical properties of an inductor without producing an inductor's magnetic effects, thereby preventing interference.
