Espeland is a village in the borough of Arna in the municipality of BergeninVestland county, Norway.[2] Espeland is located north of Lake Haukeland (Norwegian: Haukelandsvatnet) and Mount Livarden.[3][4] The village of Indre Arna lies about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) to the north.

The 2.19-square-kilometre (540-acre) village has a population (2012) of 2,182 and a population density of 996 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,580/sq mi).[5] Starting in 2013, Espeland has been included in the urban area of Arna and separate population statistics are no longer tracked.[6]

Espeland was the site of the Espeland concentration camp (Norwegian: Espeland fangeleir) built under the direction of German occupation forces between 1942 and 1943.[7]
