The Exeed Sterra ES is a battery electric full-size sedan produced by the Chinese automobile manufacturer Exeed, a premium brand of Chery. Production of the vehicle started in late 2023. The Exeed Sterra ES is a sister model to the Luxeed S7; both models are similar in size and share the same platform.

    Overview[edit]

Originally codenamed E03, the Exeed Sterra ES was revealed as a prototype in April 2023, at Auto Shanghai with a coefficient of drag of 0.205Cd.[1]

    Specifications[edit]

The Sterra ES uses the company's E0X all-electric platform, which is supported by an 800V high-voltage fast-charging system for higher trim level models and 400V fast-charging system for lower trim level models. The high-voltage fast-charging system can achieve 150 km of range with under 5 minutes of charging time. The pure electric cruising range of the Sterra ES is 720 km, while power consumption per 100 km is 11.7 kWh.[2]

The top-level performance variant Sterra ES was first launched in December 2023, the dual motor performance version Sterra ES uses a twin-motor setup, with 123 kW (167 PS; 165 hp) in the front motor and 230 kW (310 PS; 310 hp) in the back with CATL's ternary lithium plus iron manganese phosphate lithium batteries supporting a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time under 3.8 seconds. The higher trim levels of the Sterra ES are also equipped with air suspension and CDC electromagnetic damping system as well as interactive signal display under the head lamps.[3][4]

The base variant of the Sterra ES uses a single rear motor with 185 hp (138 kW; 188 PS). For regular variants of the Sterra ES, a selection of different batteries are also available starting with a 60.7 kWh BYD sourced Blade battery with a CLTC range of 550 km (340 mi), a 66.4 kWh battery with a CLTC range of 605 km (376 mi), a 79.9 kWh CATL sourced lithium iron phosphate battery with a CLTC range of 720 km (450 mi), and a 97.7 kWh CATL sourced lithium iron phosphate battery with a CLTC range of 905 km (562 mi) for the long range top trim level.[5][2]

    Interior[edit]

The interior features both a full LCD instrument panel and a 16 in (41 cm) floating center touchscreen with an AR-HUD digital head-up display, a Bose audio system, and mobile phone wireless charging. The operating system is Huawei's Harmony OS with an addition of LION AI system by Chery that supports voice control, facial recognition, AR navigation, driving assistance, internet services, and smart home functions, etc.[2]
