Gísli Torfason[3] (10 July 1954 – 21 May 2005) was an Icelandic football defender and goalkeeper. He played in 29 matches[4] for the Iceland national football team from 1973 to 1979.[2]

In 1977, Torfason was named as "player of the Iceland Championship" by the Morgunblaðið newspaper.[5]

Torfason died on May 21, 2005, in Keflavík,[6] at the age of 50.
