Workbook of Gim Hyo-won

Gim Hyo-won (Korean김효원; Hanja金孝元; 1542 – 1 April 1590) was a Korean philosopher and politician during the Joseon period. A Neo-Confucian scholar, his art name was Seongam (성암; 省庵), and his courtesy name was Inbaek (인백; 仁伯). He was a leader of the Easterners faction, born into the Seonsan Gim clan (선산 김씨; 善山 金氏).[1]

  1. ^ She was a daughter of King Seonjo and Royal Noble Consort Jeong of the Yeoheung Min clan. Her mother’s great-grandmother was Princess Gyeongsuk (a daughter of King Seongjong and Royal Noble Consort Myeong of the Andong Gim clan).
  • ^ She was the daughter of Heo Bong (허봉; 許篈; 1551–1588). Thus making her the niece of Heo Gyun and Heo Nanseolheon, and an older cousin of Royal Consort Sohun.
  • ^ Younger brother of Heo Nanseolheon
  • ^ She became a 5th junior rank concubine for Gwanghaegun's and Deposed Queen Yu's son, Deposed Crown Prince Yi Jil (폐세자 이질; 廢世子 李祬; 31 December 1598 – 22 July 1623).
