John Delacourt Russell[1] (bHendon 1868 – d Riverton 9 February 1949) was the ArchdeaconofOamaru from 1915 until 1928 when it was renamed the ArchdeaconryofNorth Otago,[2] serving a further 16 years[3] until his retirement in 1944: a total of 29 years.[4] until his death on 9 February 1949.[5]
Russell was ordained in 1893. He was CurateofSt. Stephen the Martyr, Ōpōtiki. Later he held incumbenciesatBulls, Petone[6] and Oamaru.[7]
