KasthuriorKasturi is a major Kannada monthly family-interest magazine[4] published in Karnataka, India, which has its headquarters in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is also published from Mangaluru, Gulbarga, Davangere, and Hubli.[5][6][7][8][9][10]

Kasthuri covers topics like society, Kannada poetry, science fiction, spirituality, health, travel, technology, cookery, book review, beauty. It publishes a large number of editorial cartoon, on politics and society.[11][12]

The magazine is subscribed in educational institutions like Tumkur University,[13] JSS College of Arts, Commerce & Science,[14] Kuvempu University,[15] Mysore University,[16][17] Mangalore University,[18] and Gulbarga University[19] etc.

History[edit]

Kasthuri (RNI:Reg.No.3633/1957)[20] was first published in 1921.[3] Ranganath Ramchandra Diwakar, an ex-president of the KPCC,[21] established the ′Loka Shikshana Trust′ (meaning: World Education Trust) [22] on 27 April 1933, which publishes Kasthuri and Karmaveera (a weekly Kannada magazine).[23]

Kannada writer and poet, P.V. Acharya,[24] was one among the many editors of Kasthuri,[22] including Radhakrishna Bhadti[25] and writer, journalist Nagesh Hegde[26]
