Kevin Korchinski (born June 21, 2004) is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted seventh overall by the Blackhawks in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.[1][2]

Playing career[edit]

On August 11, 2022, Korchinski signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.[3]

For his play with the Seattle Thunderbirds in the 2022–23 WHL season, Korchinski named to the Canadian Hockey League (CHL)'s Third All-Star Team.[4] The Thunderbirds entered the 2023 WHL playoffs as contenders, ultimately winning the Ed Chynoweth Cup as league's champions.[5] Their league title qualified the team for the 2023 Memorial Cup, where they reached the event final, but were defeated by the Quebec Remparts.[6]

Korchinski made the Blackhawks opening day roster for the 2023–24 NHL season, and made his official NHL debut on October 10, 2023.[7] He scored his first NHL goal against the Tampa Bay Lightning on November 9.[8]
