Kurmanayevsky District (Russian: Курманаевский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the thirty-fiveinOrenburg Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,900 square kilometers (1,100 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the rural locality (aselo) of Kurmanayevka.[2] Population: 17,705 (2010 Census);[4] 21,364 (2002 Census);[7] 23,239 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Kurmanayevka accounts for 24.4% of the district's total population.[4]
