Layron DeJarnette is an American illustrator, director, art director, character designer, storyboard artist, animator and caricaturist. He is best known as a character designer on Disney's The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,[1] art director on the Monster High web series for Mattel.[1] and character design supervisor on The Ricky Gervais Show (TV series) for HBO.[1] He is a Garbage Pail Kids artist for Topps[2][3] and trading card illustrator for the Upper Deck Company and Cryptozoic Entertainment.[4][5]

Early life[edit]

DeJarnette was born in Detroit Michigan. He majored in Illustration at The College for Creative Studies[4][6] and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Career[edit]

After graduating from The College for Creative Studies, DeJarnette worked at television station WKBD-TVinSouthfield, Michigan as a graphic designer and illustrator, then trained at Walt Disney Feature Animation StudiosinOrlando, Florida.[4] He later became an instructor at the College for Creative Studies, teaching Figure Drawing, Anatomy, Illustration and Animation Drawing. In 2000 DeJarnette relocated to Los Angeles, California to provide work for various studios in the entertainment industry such as: Disney, Warner Bros. Animation, Nickelodeon, Marvel, DC Comics, Mattel, Hasbro, WildBrain, 6 Point Harness, Bento Box Entertainment, ABC, FOX, Lionsgate, LeapFrog, Aniplex, Sega, Ubisoft, Duck Studios, Hyperion Pictures, Klasky Csupo.[4][6]
