  • Notes[edit]

    1. ^ a b c Fulmer served as interim coach for the first three games of the 1992 season while Johnny Majors recovered from heart surgery. He was named full-time coach after the 1992 season, and led the team in the 1993 Hall of Fame Bowl. Tennessee credits the first three games of the 1992 regular season and the Hall of Fame Bowl to Fulmer, and the eight games in between to Majors.
  • ^ a b Fulmer's 1993 Tennessee team finished 9–2–1 (6–1–1), but Alabama subsequently forfeited the tie to Tennessee.
  • ^ a b c Dooley was fired after 11 games and Jim Chaney coached the last game of the season.
  • ^ a b c Jones was fired by Tennessee prior to the LSU game and was replaced by Brady Hoke, who coached the final two games of the year.
  • ^ a b c d The NCAA vacated all 11 of Tennessee's wins from the 2019 and 2020 seasons after ruling that it used ineligible players.
  • ^ Tennessee dropped out of bowl game due to a rise in positive COVID cases within the program and was replaced by Army.
