Myles Hinton (born January 9, 2002)[1] is an American football offensive tackle for the Michigan Wolverines. He previously played for Stanford University. He won a national championship with Michigan in 2023.
Hinton grew up in John's Creek, Georgia and attended Greater Atlanta Christian School. He is the son of former All-Pro offensive lineman Chris Hinton, and the younger brother of former Michigan Wolverine, and current Los Angeles Chargers nose tackle, Christopher Hinton.[2][3]
Hinton was rated as a five star recruit, the 12th overall prospect, and the second best offensive tackle in the class of 2020.[4] Hinton held offers from schools such as Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Stanford.[5] Hinton ultimately committed to play college football for the Stanford Cardinal.[6][7]
During Hinton's first season with Stanford in 2020 he played in four games with no starts.[8] For his performance in the 2020 season, Hinton was named Stanford's most outstanding freshman.[9] During the 2021 season, Hinton appeared in eleven games, starting nine for the Cardinal.[10] During the 2022 season, Hinton played in seven and started seven games for Stanford.[11] After the conclusion of the 2022 season, Hinton entered the NCAA transfer portal.[12]
Hinton transferred to the University of Michigan on December 17, 2022.[13][14] Hinton opened up the 2023 season as the starting left tackle for the Wolverines.[15][16] Hinton played in 13 games, making five starts, as he helped Michigan to win a national championship.[17]
