Nicholas Herbig (born November 21, 2001) is an American football linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college footballatWisconsin. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL draft by the Steelers.
Herbig is from Kauai, Hawaii.[1] He attended the Saint Louis SchoolinOahu, Hawaii and committed to play college football at the University of Wisconsin .[2][3]
Herbig started all seven games in his true freshman year at Wisconsin in 2020, recording 26 tackles and one sack.[4][5] He returned as a starter in 2021, and had 61 tackles and nine sacks.[6] In 2022 Herbig became the top playmaker on the Wisconsin defense, garnering first-team all-conference as well as third-team Associated Press All-America. He had 47 tackles (15.5 for loss) with 11 sacks and two pass breakups in 11 games. Herbig's sack total tied for sixth in the FBS.[7]

After being selected in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL draft, Herbig signed his rookie contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.[10]
His brother, Nate Herbig, played offensive guard for the Stanford Cardinal before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL. He currently plays for the Steelers.[11]
