Nu2 Arae, Latinized from ν2 Arae, is the Bayer designation for a star in the southern constellationofAra. It is approximately 570 light-years (170 parsecs) from the Earth and is faintly visible to the naked eye with an apparent visual magnitude of 6.10.[2] The stellar classification of B9.5 III-IV[3] shows this to be a B-type star with a spectrum that displays features part way between the subgiant and giant star stages.

The star is sometimes referred as Upsilon2 Arae2 Arae).[7]
