    OG (also known as They Call Him OG) is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language gangster action thriller film written and directed by Sujeeth and produced by D. V. V. DanayyaofDVV Entertainment. The film stars Pawan Kalyan, Emraan Hashmi (in his Telugu debut), and Priyanka Mohan in lead roles.

    The film was officially announced in December 2022 and principal photography commenced in April 2023 in Mumbai. The musical score and soundtrack are composed by Thaman S, while the cinematography is handled by Ravi K. Chandran.

    OG was scheduled to release on 27 September 2024, but was postponed due to production delays.[3][4]

    OG revolves around a ruthless don named Ojas Gambheera "OG" who returns to Mumbai following his ten year disappearance, to kill another crime boss, Omi Bhau.

    Development[edit]

    In October 2022, it was reported that Sujeeth narrated a script to Pawan Kalyan which impressed him.[5] On 4 December 2022, Kalyan announced that he would collaborate with director Sujeeth, who previously directed Saaho (2019), for his venture after Hari Hara Veera Mallu with Krish Jagarlamudi.[6] The project was funded by D. V. V. Danayya under DVV Entertainment with a reported production budget of 250 crore. Kalyan was reported to receive 100 crore for remuneration.[2][7] cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran, music composer Thaman S and production designer A. S. Prakash were chosen as a part of the crew.[8]Amuhuratam puja ceremony was held on 30 January 2023 at a studio in Hyderabad with the presence of the film's cast and crew.[9] Later, Sujeeth began location scouting for the film with cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran and production designer A. S. Prakash at Flora Fountain in Mumbai.[10]

    Casting[edit]

    Priyanka Mohan was cast as the female lead, while Emraan Hashmi was cast as the antagonist, thus marking his debut in Telugu cinema.[11][12] Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, Harish Uthaman and Prakash Raj are cast in other supporting roles.[13]

    Filming[edit]

    Principal photography began with the first schedule on 15 April 2023 in Mumbai.[14][15] Kalyan joined the sets in same month.[16] The first schedule was wrapped up on 2 May.[17] Some scenes between Priyanka Mohan and Kalyan was shot in Pune.[18] The second schedule began on 18 May in Hyderabad.[19] The third schedule began on 4 June.[20] Emraan Hashmi joined the sets with this schedule.[21] This schedule was completed on 26 June.[22] The fourth schedule started on 11 July 2023.[23] Mumbai schedule, which lasted for two months was wrapped on 18 September 2023.[24]

    Music[edit]

    The film's soundtrack is composed by Thaman S in his fourth collaboration with Pawan Kalyan after Vakeel Saab, Bheemla Nayak and Bro.[25] The track "Hungry Cheetah" was released on 3 September 2023.[26]

    Marketing[edit]

    On 2 September 2023, glimpse video was released, coinciding with Kalyan's birthday with launch event held at Sandhya theatre, Hyderabad.[27] It became the most liked Telugu glimpse in 24 hours of its release.[28]

    Release[edit]

    OG was scheduled to release on 27 September 2024,[1] but was postponed due to production delays.
