Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak (Arabic : رزان خليفة المبارك ; born 1979) is the managing director of the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD),[1] Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund as well as the current president of the International Union for Conservation of Nature .[2]
Early life [ edit ]
Al Mubarak was born in 1979 in Abu Dhabi .[3] [4] UAE ambassador to France who was assassinated in 1984 in Paris by the Abu Nidal Organization terrorist group,[5] Emirate of Abu Dhabi .[6] Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak , Managing Director of Mubadala Investment Company ; and Mohamed Khalifa Al-Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority .
Al Mubarak holds an M.Sc. in Public Understanding of Environmental Change from the University College London and a BA in Environmental Studies and International Relations from Tufts University .[7] [8]
In 2001, Al Mubarak helped establish Emirates Nature–WWF (EN–WWF)—a UAE affiliate of the WWF.[9] [9] Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund (MBZ Fund).[3]
She is the managing director of the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD).[1] [10] [9] [11] Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan .[12] scimitar-horned oryx into the wild in Chad .[13]
She is on the board of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation and the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture .[14] [15] Rockefeller Foundation Economic Council on Planetary Health ,[16] [17] [18] Panthera ,[19] [7] Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF).[20]
In September 2021, she was elected as the president of International Union for Conservation of Nature for a 4-year term, becoming the second woman to be elected to lead the organization in the organization's history.[21] [22] [23] World Economic Forum appointed her as a Young Global Leader of the Forum.[24] [25]

Al Mubarak is married to Badr Jafar , an Emirati businessperson.[27] Bill and Melinda Gates ' and Warren Buffett 's "The Giving Pledge ".[27] [27] [28]
