Sanchursky District (Russian: Са́нчурский райо́н) is an administrative^[1] and municipal^[5] district (raion), one of the thirty-nineinKirov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,536 square kilometers (593 sq mi).^[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (anurban-type settlement) of Sanchursk.^[1] Population: 10,080 (2010 Russian census);^[3] 14,063 (2002 Census);^[7] 17,719 (1989 Soviet census).^[8] The population of Sanchursk accounts for 46.9% of the district's total population.^[3]
