Sean Gilbert Peter Burns (1961[1] – 16 March 2023) was a British civil servant. He served as Administrator of Tristan da Cunha from 2010 to 2013, 2016 to 2020, and again from 2022 to 2023, when he died in office. Burns had previously served as Administrator of Ascension.[2]

Burns had a stroke on 9 March 2023 and was admitted to Camogli HospitalinEdinburgh of the Seven Seas. He died on 16 March aboard RVMeteor while en route to Cape Town for further treatment.[2][3][4]
