Sicuani is a town in southern Peru, capital of Canchis ProvinceinCusco Region. It has an estimated population of 54,672 inhabitants. One important feature in this town, is the Urubamba river. This river is born here and it follows through an outstanding route to the north of Perú, passing several types of terrains and vegetation. The river was of great importance in the Inca Empire and previous cultures. The Urubamba river joins to another main river to form the Ucayali river, which later joins to the Marañon river to form the Amazon river, which lately crosse the whole continent and ends in the Atlantic.
