Autopatrolled

  • WP:RFP/A
  • This user has created over 20k articles (1k deleted for various reasons) and previous held the autopatrolled permission. In 2017, the permission was removed, per the log summary stating that the user had retired and that the articles would have to be patrolled. The user has appeared to regain their activity, and is continuing to create quality articles. Pinging @Ymblanter:, the administrator who removed the permission. Utopes (talk) 03:26, 21 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No, I meant that I had retired the permission because the articles created by the user needed to be patrolled. I do not remember what the exact reason was, and in any case it was two years ago, but it would be good for another administrator to have a look.--Ymblanter (talk) 07:50, 21 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, it appears that I misinterpreted the rights log. Regardless, I think it would be useful for another administrator to look into this user's recently created articles and determine whether a problem still remains. Utopes (talk) 17:16, 21 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done solid contributions overall, but there's a couple recently created articles and redirects that were deleted after discussion. signed, Rosguill talk 05:43, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have been on the project for quite some years but I decided to contribute more in the last year or two. I have created a solid amount of articles and I do plan to work more in the future. I always try to add the best sources possible to my articles and I think that this additional right would benefit my work further. cheers Sadkσ (talk is cheap) 13:03, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

    Has created over 25 articles. ~~ CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 13:08, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I'm a little concerned at the sight of the creation of a list article with only one entry on it and only one source. This sort of content forking isn't exactly helpful, and they've only created two articles in the last year so it's not like patrolling them is a huge burden. Thanks! TwoScars (talk) 19:08, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have been an editor since 2008, and I am well versed in Wikipedia policies and procedures. I have started over 100 articles. I have mainly been creating stubs for bacteria-related articles. However, I have created longer articles like Spirit Animal (band), Alicyclobacillus, Roseomonas, and America's Next Great Restaurant. Creating the articles for existing species is non-controversial; but I have shown that with Spirit Animal, I made sure that I had a plethora of sources before bringing it to mainspace. My main project is creating stubs for bacterial species, which I can do relatively quickly now with some copy/paste to give the basic information, so having autopatrol would relieve some pressure on new page review. Angryapathy (talk) 15:27, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Endorsed. I wasn't referring to you in particular when I talked about copying and pasting information; copying information between articles requires attribution, but that's an entirely different can of beans. While most of your articles are short, that doesn't mean that you participate in mass-stub creation, which you don't. Mass-stub creation is the creation of hundreds of nearly identical articles with only minor differences, and does not demonstrate consistent article creation ability. This is different than what you do, as all of your articles have individualized information, and are not duplicates of each other. Articles on the same topic can be different from each other, and your articles are. Utopes (talk) 17:51, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. My method for starting the articles is to use a template, and then add the information as needed. However, it does take effort to manually parse through the sources to pull out the information and include it in the article. So there is some copy/paste, but then I have to read and digest the information and then properly add it to that article. Angryapathy (talk) 18:56, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

25+ articles created that are start class and above. 72 created all time with 1 redirect deleted to make way for a move. Has been creating articles since 2006. Utopes (talk) 19:46, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Only 1 article creation in the last 5 years suggests to me that it isn't necessary to have auto patrolled. Bungle (talkcontribs) 19:51, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This user has been creating redirects lately, and the statistics for articles are only provided to show that this is a trusted user who has met the requirements for autopatrolled. Utopes (talk) 20:27, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done not creating enough articles to justify the spot check of articles necessary to investigate this case. I'll add them to the redirect whitelist, although at < 1 redirects per day this past month I'm not sure it's worth it. signed, Rosguill talk 05:58, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I like to create articles on notable computer scientists. Having recently become involved with NPP (and starting by looking at the bottom of the feed), I realized the time reviewers spend reviewing my biographies would most certainly be better spent reviewing other articles. Especially considering the thousands still out there, and the fact that I cherish my tiny bit of work and would hate to have to stop due to grudgingly bloating that number! Thanks for your consideration, PK650 (talk) 23:56, 28 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. Good work, but mostly stubs and incomplete - missing cats and PoB, DoB, etc. At least one tagged for notability. These pages don't take long to patrol at NPP. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:31, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback! I didn't know that biographies required PoB & DoB! Would you mind pointing towards the relevant policy so I can read it? WP:BLP doesn't say they do. Oh and I also wanted to point out that all are categorized (over 2 each) and none are orphans. Thank you again. Best, PK650 (talk) 23:05, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I am interested in obtaining this role as i have been stepping up my edits both on this wiki and on the Portuguese one, where i already obtained the title. Many of the articles i created are start-classes, but i'm well versed in policies and have created some larger ones. YuriNikolai (talk) 18:07, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done there's at least one old article with no sources, and few articles with more than a source or two. The Swedish geography articles in particular do not have self-evident notability and need more citations to establish such. I do suspect that their subjects likely are notable, but these articles could benefit from getting tagged for improvement in the NPP process. signed, Rosguill talk 06:11, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This user creates many stubs, sure, but is capable of writing longer articles that comply with Wikipedia's notability / verifiability guidelines, with 85 articles Start-class and above, and 617 pages total. 5/7 deleted for trivial reasons, with the other two deleted in 2007. Utopes (talk) 04:46, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
71 pages created, 33 have been judged to be start-class or higher, being the author of a Good Article to boot. Has been creating redirects recently, with 431 to date. While redirect creation doesn't play a large part into the granting of autopatrolled, this user still meets the qualifications for autopatrolled, and having the permission would definitely be of benefit.
