Storozheve (Ukrainian: Сторожеве; Russian: Сторожевое) is a village just south of NeskuchneinVolnovakha Raion (district) in the Donetsk Oblast of eastern Ukraine. It is on the opposite side of the Mokri Yaly river from Blahodatne and about 79.09 kilometres (49.14 mi) southwest by west (SWbW) of the centre of Donetsk city. It belongs to Velyka Novosilka settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine.
In March 2022, the settlement was occupied by the Russian Armed Forces during the Russo-Ukrainian war. It was liberated by the Ukrainian forces in June 2023.[2][3][4][5][6]
Malyar and other Ukrainian and Russian sources reported that Ukrainian forces made gains south of Velyka Novosilka between June 10 and 11, including liberating Makarivka, Neskuchne, Blahodatne, Storozheve, and Novodarivka.
On Monday, soldiers were seen in video holding the Ukrainian flag in the village of Storozheve, along the Mokri Yaly river which flows northward out of Russian-held territory. Reuters confirmed the location.
