“built from streetcar specifications…resemble current mass transit car designs” stinks. These were modern rapid transit cars designed to utilize existing streetcar components. These cars didn’t need the streetcar stuff, they saved money using it. They were a solid, successful design, 35 years service is pretty good.
“A design similar…was considered” in Toronto 15 years before?
Tried to shorten infobox, it’s longer than the article. Refurbishment took up 4 lines, maybe the M-K was good, but there were tons of small stuff like the ‘64 Skokie, it’s not special.
