Baran-Atru MLA Pana Chand Meghwal resignation

[edit]

There are news articles that Baran-Atru MLA Pana Chand Meghwal resigned. But no confirmation if this was effected. Possibly the CM did not accept the resignation. The official site, does not show any vacant seat. https://assembly.rajasthan.gov.in/MemberPartyPosition.aspx

So I am reverting the change that made it vacant. Venkat TL (talk) 18:50, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Venkat TL Some official assembly pages show outdated info as they are not usually updated for months. If reliable sources have claimed that an MLA has resigned (as in the current case), then it should be marked as a vacant seat. Dhruv edits (talk) 00:16, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dhruv edits No. The reliable source is only reporting that this MLA has intentions to resign and might have started the procedure. Not that the resignation has been accepted or complete. If so, by polls would be called and the seat will be mentioned as vacant. None of these info is available. So it will be unsourced to mark it as vacant. @MPGuy2824 your opinion? Venkat TL (talk) 10:00, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Why is politics in India so complicated? You can submit resignation papers, but you may not be allowed to resign by the Speaker/Party leader, aargh.
I don't think there is a good option here. Dhruv is right: the assembly pages will probably not be updated for every resignation. In this case, i'd guess they'd update only when they are sure of who is the CM and the final party position after all the in-fighting is over. For now, i'm leaning towards showing "vacant" with a good footnote explaining the situation. Also Venkat, polls aren't always called for by the ECI, immediately after a seat vacancy. In this case, they'd probably announce it with the HP elections since they are so close by. -MPGuy2824 (talk) -MPGuy2824 (talk) 03:25, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MPGuy2824 All we know is this guy submitted his resignation. https://thewire.in/government/rajasthan-mla-decides-to-resign-over-alleged-atrocities-against-dalits
When we write VACANT in MLA table, it means we are claiming The resignation has been accepted by Speaker and CM. We have no evidence of this. Hence Vacant is unsourced. We can write in remark, Pana Chand submitted his resignation in August 2022. with the source, without calling it vacant. @Dhruv edits do you agree? If you dont then we will need a reference that says, it is vacant. Venkat TL (talk) 09:41, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reference for Communist party support

[edit]

@Chennai Super Kings Lover You have changed the numbers. Special:Diff/1112455888. Where is the reference that says Communist party supports Gehlot Government? Please do not make such changes without a valid reliable source that supports the numbers you are adding or changing. Venkat TL (talk) 12:13, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Chennai Super Kings Lover Thank you for the link. OK. So out of 2 MLAs one CPM MLA supports Congress. But you have moved both MLA as government? Please provide the link for second CPM MLA also, Until then, we should keep them separate. Venkat TL (talk) 15:48, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dhruv edits @MPGuy2824 can you take a look at this. This looks complicated. For now I have listed 1 CPM in govt, and 1 CPM in opposition. This is highly unusual. Venkat TL (talk) 16:28, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Quite odd that the news article says "lone cpim member". I think it is ok for now, until we get info about the other cpim mla, or the central party leadership dictates to both of them who to support. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 03:12, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Other section in the infobox

[edit]

@Chennai Super Kings Lover There is no "Other" bench in the Assembly. There are Treasury (Government) benches and everyone else is in Opposition bench. Also there is no reliable source calling them Other. Why are you adding them in Other? Venkat TL (talk) 15:49, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Chennai Super Kings Lover, I approve and support your edits removing "Others" from pages and infobox. You do not need to tag me in every edit. Venkat TL (talk) 16:26, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
