POV title[edit]

Again, the use of the word pogrom implies the focus of the attack was on a single ethnic group. I have not seen a source which substantiates this. Oncenawhile (talk) 21:15, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia does not care about the personal opinions of Wikipedia editors regarding what events should be described as, but rather on the views of reliable secondary sources. Jayjg (talk) 23:59, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Let's continue this on talk:pogrom. Oncenawhile (talk) 08:19, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at this again and can't find any detailed WP:RS which describe the event and calls it a pogrom. However here are a selection of sources which show that "Druze attack" is the most common name:

I'll leave the tag for now to give others a chance to comment. Oncenawhile (talk) 10:34, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It seems this could even be merged into the Druze revolt article. Most of this article is background, with only a few lines about the attack itself. Those lines could just be a subsection in the revolt article. As it is now, it just seems to be a victimisation piece with little notability separately from the revolt. FunkMonk (talk) 11:07, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Oncenawhile (talk) 11:25, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It also seems that it is only mentioned in passing by sources, when the revolt itself is described, is that correct? If so, that is even more incentive to merge. FunkMonk (talk) 11:37, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Of course it is, as I said, Hebrew articles focus on this incident alone to victimise Jews, but for the rest of the world, this incident is only a tiny part of of the overall topic, 1838 Druze revolt. The topic of this article only amounts to one paragraph (the rest is duplicate background info), and for that reason, it is redundant and should be merged. The purpose of keeping the article seperate is simply to say "see, Arabs killed Jews". FunkMonk (talk) 22:34, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be renamed to "1838 Druze attack on the Jews of Safed". Chesdovi (talk) 05:55, 29 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

pogrom[edit]

How is this not a pogrom? Thank you for clarification.
