Arab Revolt

[edit]

This is just part of the 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine and should be combined under the Heading of that Arab Revolt.Ashley kennedy3 (talk) 20:45, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

--- Please check the linking to Arabic wikipedia, as it is clearly not the same event, thank you. This massacre should also be listed under the 'list of massacres' page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.219.125.57 (talk) 22:48, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ATTENTION!

[edit]

Do not restore the false link to Arabic wikipedia, it is not the same event! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.178.44.248 (talk) 21:18, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

pov title

[edit]

As we are discovering on talk:pogrom, the use of the word has certain implications. Since the name of this article has not been established as the WP:COMMONNAME (googlebooks show zero hits for "tiberias pogrom"), we should not use creating a name with complex connotations unless we are agreed that the majority of scholars agree with that interpretation. In the absence of such agreement, we should use a less "loaded" word in the page title. Oncenawhile (talk) 09:08, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1938 Tiberias pogrom1938 Tiberias massacre – The use of the term "pogrom" to label the event(s) described in this article appears to be based on original research. The verifiable sources used in this article (in which there are three—at least two that are in English—don't use the word pogrom; the League of Nations source uses "massacre" while the mandate report in the UN source uses "general raid," although it also says it was well-planned. The other sources used are not readily available to be verified. In my google book search I did not find any source, other than those that reference Wikipedia, that describes the event as a pogrom. --Al Ameer son (talk) 22:43, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Victims

[edit]

Source no. 2 doesn't appear to mention the number of children killed. It also places the number of victims at 20. Here are all the victims in Tiberias commemorated by the Israeli government. There are 10 children and 3 adult women:

The 20th victim mentioned in the League of Nations archive is most likely government employee Zeidner, Leon - 46 who was kidnapped by Arabs on the 1st October and found murdered on a roadside near Tiberias on the day of the massacre. His body was brought to the police station in Nazareth and was buried in Afula. Would someone care to update the article accordingly? --ארינמל (talk) 15:17, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
